At 13:00 hrs. Mr.Tharit Pengdit, Director-General, the Department of Special Investigations, briefed the press on the outcome of the meeting of the Center For Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO).
1. The number of protesters at all protest sites on 27th February was approximately 3,900 people. The CMPO appreciated the public for not joining the rallies of all sides; pro- and anti- the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), and other groups to minimize the risks. For the demonstration at the office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the CMPO wished to require leaders of the protesters to clear the way for officials to enter.
2. The CMPO appreciated the Criminal Court for not revoking arrest warrants against 18 person under the Emergency Decree. The CMPO will continue with the legal actions against those who faced arrest warrants.
3. The CMPO had managed to reopen 63 government offices. However, since the Civil Court's ruling, members of the PDRC have blockaded government once again. The PDRC has trespassed on and besieged 14 government agencies.
4. So far, there are 190 cases involving election obstructions (51 cases in Bangkok and 139 cases in other provinces) and 173 cases involving the failure of electoral officers to perform their duties (62 cases in Bangkok and 111 cases in other provinces). 141 person already faced arrest warrants.
5. The Director of the CMPO has instructed the Permanent Secretaries of all government agencies to take legal actions both criminal and civil processes against members of the PDRC who have blockaded the government premises within 7 days.
6. The CMPO has received a report that some of 58 person, who have been already charged and faced arrest warrants, have threatened other people in the public areas. The CMPO wished to warn that such actions are violating others' rights. The CMPO has assigned the DSI to proceed with legal actions against those with arrest warrants.
